Pipemakers Park

It is of national historical, social and architectural significance.

Originally home to a pipe works and meat preserving company, the site includes industrial-era buildings and interpreted ruins that showcase the evolution of Melbourne's industrial development.

In addition to the beautifully shaded parklands and historical features, Pipemakers Park also offers a nature playground, designed to reflect the natural and industrial history of its surrounds and with experiences for all abilities; Frog's Hollow Wetlands, where the sounds of frogs and sightings of woodland birds among dense vegetation create am immersive ecological experience; and the public art installation 'Pipedreams' by renowned Australian sculptor Matthew Harding. This striking stainless-steel sculpture stands 8x12 metres, and from dusk until late comes alive with ever-changing patterns of light, creating a dynamic visual experience that pays homage to the site's industrial past.

Pipemakers Park is linked to the Maribyrnong River Trail network, with paths extending 15 kilometer upstream to Brimbank Park in East Keilor and 4 kilometer downstream to Stock Bridge at Kensington.
