Winner of the Scotsman Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival, Emma Dennis Edwards' unflinching and luminous play Funeral Flowers makes its Australian premiere -a story about social inequality, self-discovery, and the human ability to create beauty in the midst of struggle.
Directed by Candy Bowers.
Seventeen-year-old Angelique dreams of being a florist. Flowers are her escape from bullies, from the care system, from the reality of her mum serving time. Inspired by the true story of Tottenham community leader Gina Moffatt, Funeral Flowers is a raw, lyrical and deeply human monologue about growing up, fighting back, and finding hope where it seems impossible.
Presented in partnership with Red Stitch Actors Theatre. Recommended for guests aged 14 years and over.
