Colour: See the World in a New Light

Perfect for children aged 5 to 14 and their families, this immersive experience combines creativity, discovery and play-based learning.

Featuring 21 interactive exhibits, the exhibition invites visitors to experiment with colour, light, optics and perception while discovering how colour is created, changed and understood.

Journey through four themed zones: Seeing Colour, Coloured Light, Changing Colour and Making Sense of Colour. Along the way, test optical illusions, manipulate light, explore colour perception and uncover the science behind how we see and interpret the world around us.

Designed for a wide range of ages and learning styles, each zone encourages curiosity, exploration and hands-on discovery through engaging activities and immersive environments.

Exclusive to Scienceworks, the Colour in Action interactive, developed by Museums Victoria, combines science and creativity in a playful new experience. Using projected light and acrylic insect components, visitors can design their own creatures while exploring live colour mixing and the role colour plays in nature, from camouflage to attraction.
